Get Your First Product Out In The Next 24 Hrs!

Getting your first product on the market shouldn’t be a challenge, yet many people struggle to ever bring a product to market for a number of reasons.

Today’s training is a step-by-step system on getting a full multimedia product out and running within the next 24 hours. (Yes you read right 24hrs)

Ok I may be exaggerating….but it is certainly possible once you get some practice.

Creating a product is like riding a bike….the more you do it the easier it becomes. It’s all about following systems and doing things in the right way.

So you ready?

Lets GO!

#1 Building the skeleton.

You need to outline your product.

Like the chapters in a book this outline will determine the content you cover and the order you cover it.

To save time I type in my outlines straight onto my slides (Powerpoint or keynote)

#2 Getting the body.

Once my outline is ready I then start putting the content into place, again I do this straight onto my slides to save time.

I personally like to do this in a step by step manner.

The first slide of any module is the aim.

I then explain the content.

The last slide of the module is a review.

#3 Putting it together.

With the slides done I then record the videos…

I personally use Camtasia….but there are a number of alternatives out there.

#4 Getting the Audio

Using the videos and Camtasia I then convert them into mp3 files which can be used as part of the product, a bonus or even a one time offer.

#5 Exporting to PDF

I then export the Slides to PDF format so they can be downloaded and read, and offer them as part of the product, a bonus or the one time offer.

So there you have it! Five super simple steps to getting your first product out.

No matter what online business you are running (Or Not) traffic is key. Without traffic our businesses would simply grind to a halt faster than Usain Bolt running the 100M…and that’s pretty damn fast.

Blogs, Ecommerce, Review sites, Continuity sites…every single business model has one thing in common, they all need traffic to thrive. Yet bringing visitors to our site seems to be the #1 problem most people I talk to face, and it also seems to be the problem that they find hardest to solve.

As a result of this ever increasing need for traffic the chase for the ever elusive silver bullet traffic solution begins…

Big daddy and the search…

Many will swear by the power of Google, the daddy of all search engines and a potential traffic goldmine. Whether it’s Pay-per-click or search engine traffic, Google has enough traffic to melt any server…if your site catches their eye.

In the good old days getting traffic from Google (And other search engines!) was as easy as taking candy from a baby (Or so I am told) Nowadays its akin to searching for the holy grail, except the holy grail doesn’t want to be found!

Google has been notorious at “slapping” internet marketers in the Pay-per-click arena on several occasions and getting your campaigns to be profitable can be a daunting task. However there are a number of marketers which go toe-to-toe with the might of Google and see handsome returns…but it is not for the faint hearted! Fortunes can be made and squandered at the bat of an eyelid!

Ah! But I prefer to get traffic from Google’s search engine…..I hear you say…

Well my friend…That is easier said than done!

In my earlier ventures in the internet marketing arena I had great success with search engine traffic in a number of my ecommerce sites. I had traffic flowing hand over fist…. BUT!

It was a slow and tedious process, one which is far too oversimplified by some and underestimated by many. In fact the main reason why I “gave” up so to speak was that I was entirely consumed by getting by sites “ranked”. I was obsessed with “links” and “page rank” and all that SEO jargon….
In the end I became over reliant on Google and was only too aware of the wrath that they could incur….which led me onto a new quest…

There’s a new kid on the block!

With 500 million active users Facebook seemed like the wild wild west…..opportunities aplenty…cheap paid traffic and a custom system dedicated to businesses (Facebook fan pages) it seemed that Facebook was about to be the new staging ground for my quest (And others) for traffic.

And in a way it was (And still is…) productive…..but in way that no one ever imagined!

You see the old Internet Marketer (And many still around) would have simply bombarded/plastered his or her advertising material around the internet and develop their list of potential customers not giving a rats arse as to what they were selling (Heck, sadly that is still the case!) and whether it was of any use….

Facebook however allowed us to do things….well…..differently (In a really nice way). We could go off and start to build relationships with our customers. In other words we could begin to CARE about our customers….which brought a new form of exciting traffic: Viral traffic.

It’s like word of mouth on steroids…

People “liking”, “Sharing” and “commenting” on your content and spreading the word around the internet….

However one false move (i.e. attempt to scam someone) and you’ve had it! Bad publicity all around…

So what about the old stuff?

You know…Article marketing, forum posting etc? Is it all dead?

Internet Marketers are an innovative bunch, and we do find ways of resuscitating old techniques, whilst at sometimes completely ignoring others that may still work.

The days of blasting thousands of copies of articles to directories and living off that flood of traffic are long gone…..Content is King, and some of the stuff simply doesn’t cut it.

Yet article marketing is an excellent traffic getting tool…if you know how to do it! There are a number of good marketers getting ALL their traffic in this way, by syndicating articles to high trafficked blogs and newsletters….so it isn’t entirely dead!

There are so many options….

Despite their being hundreds of options people still FAIL to get traffic…yes read that again…they FAIL to get traffic. And here is why:

1) They focus on one method, and when that doesn’t prove fruitful they give up and move on….they simply lack patience!
2) They place all their eggs in one basket and when that traffic source fails….so does their business.
3) They try everything under the sun and don’t do any of it efficiently! I know marketers who use up to 15 methods of getting traffic and get less traffic than someone who uses far less.

Traffic Tripod...

So what is the solution?

Enter the Traffic Tripod…

Its not some kind of traffic getting device…..

Its a system, and one that if used powerfully can get you traffic, traffic and more traffic.

Ready for it?

#1 Choose 3 methods that you are comfortable with for generating traffic (Hence tripod)
•    So if one fails you have two others…
•    You can work on getting traffic from the search engines which is slow….but still get traffic from the two other methods you choose.

#2 Implement these methods EVERY SINGLE DAY!
•    Be consistent and prolific….it pays off in the end!

#3 Stick with them!
•    Traffic is accumulative….so stick with them.

So there you go….there is the traffic tripod system!

So what next?

Working Online...

Whenever friends ask me why I decided to work from home and start an online business I tend to have a pretty straight up answer. Even if I attempt to spell it out to them many fail to see the benefits.

To most people what I do online is an enigma, they simply do not understand it and many cannot fathom why I would even take the risk of leaving my comfortable corporate salary.

Despite all my explanations they simply cannot understand my Indiana Jones like cravings (Without the whip and hat!) for adventure and venturing into the unknown world of starting an online business, even if the benefits are there for all to see.

Location, Location, Location

From the carnival atmosphere of Rio De Janeiro or the sunny beaches on the coast of Spain, or even the dark musty workspace in your parents basement, the internet has almost no boundaries…And for many this is the one major benefit of starting an online business, the ability to work anywhere in the world without any physical constraints.

Unlike traditional employment working from home gives you the freedom to be where you want to be, when you want to be there. Some may choose to stay at home whilst others travel the world or work from the comfort of some high street coffee shop. The reality is that with an online business all you need is an internet connection, your laptop and you are ready to go…

In this day and age almost every single part of doing business can be done online or over the phone, meaning that you are free to choose your location and there is the kicker….you have the choice.

For some that choice involves going into an office, for many it means working from home whilst taking care of the family, others may choose to go to the local coffee shop or library, whilst the more adventurous will pack their bags and work on the road in some exotic location.

It’s a numbers game…

If I needed to give you one defining moment in deciding whether to start my online business this would be it….I simply had no choice!

I wanted to work for myself and start a business, so much so that I looked into a donut franchise (You know the ones you see in shopping malls and fairs). I excitedly ordered a brochure and took that first step towards financial Independence….or so I thought! My dreams were practically shattered from the moment I opened that big white envelope, I still remember that exact moment. I was sitting in my parents kitchen as I quickly skimmed through the catalogue and took out the price lists, calculator in hand I did the maths, then redid them and then did them again for good measure…

I was stumped! The total cost of starting the business would have fallen just shy of $12,000 and that would have kept me and my business going for less than 3 months (And that did not even include licenses, premises or any of that stuff!) The total annual cost would have hit $40,000 at least!

It was a no brainer…even if I had sold a kidney in the black market I would have struggled to come up with the cash flow to kick start my business. Not only that! I was damn scared! Heck wouldn’t you be?

Stumping out $12,000 to start with is not an easy decision, what was an easier decision was getting started online!

You see… starting an online business is 100 times cheaper than doing so in the “real” world when you do it the right way. Sure enough there can be some expenses you simply cannot run away from, but if we assume the normal typical small business:

Domain: $8.99/year
Hosting: $107.88/year (At $8.99 a month)
Autoresponder: $228/year (At $19 a month)

Total: $344.87/year ($28.74 a month)

For me it was a no-brainer getting started online. It was something that I could easily afford to do with very little risk… (Less than $1 a day!)

Stick it to the man!

With the rising unemployment rates, increased redundancies and some companies sinking as fast as the Titanic working for yourself can seem to be an enticing prospect.

In the average working life of an adult you spend most of the time making money for someone else. Normally it’s some person who you’ve never met and owns more bling than the Queen of England, and whilst you slave away in some dingy office, they are out playing golf or hunting wild boar…
Hardly sounds fair right? Fact is that it probably isn’t, but many people are pretty content working in the knowledge that they know where their next pay check is coming from. That is until it all goes horribly wrong and the company sacks you or make you redundant.

It’s not all doom and gloom! If your company keeps you employed, you can go to bed at night happy at the knowledge that you will spend the better part of your life marching to someone elses beat in the traditional 9-5 rat race, wishing for the holidays to arrive and retirement to come and save you.

The alternative is a situation where you work for yourself, march to your own beat and avoid the stifling constraints of a 9-5 job. That is, you work online and get the choice of where you work and what you do. In other words you work to benefit yourself and not some millionaire tycoon who you’ve never met!

Paint By Numbers

Remember those painting by numbers kits? The ones that made you look like the next Picasso?

The beauty about them was that they were simple to follow. They had a logical step-by-step process that got you from A to Z (Or in this case from 1 to 100) and at the end you had a pretty picture your parents could be proud of…

Well getting a business online is pretty much the same. It’s a series of systems which pretty much anyone from the street can follow. Yes it requires you to work and spend time developing your business, but if you can follow simple instructions you can have a working business up in no time.

Are you running your business the right way? Will your business last the test of time?

It’s probably a good time for you to ask yourself those questions…

I’m under attack! 

Over the last few day’s I’ve received over 40 emails promoting various different IM related products and sometimes it feels like I’m under attack! I don’t mind learning about new tools or strategies in fact I think it’s great to find out what is available….here is what does get to me!

It’s normally the same marketers who are simply jumping on every product launch bandwagon day after day, without even taking a look at the product, or even making an effort in writing up their email copy.

For every product launch I receive at least 3 or 4 emails that are completely identical….the story, the sales pitch and even the subject line! It really does make me wonder if people take their business seriously and as a result I’ve recently started a mass cull on marketers that put no effort into their marketing efforts.

Here is why…

I can can put up with receiving emails that are promoting content if you are actually promoting something that is worth my time, but what gets to me, is that most of the time these guys haven’t even seen the product let alone used it. They are simply copy and pasting like a bunch of zombies lured by the smell of cash and it winds me up!

These are the same marketers that just Sell, Sell, Sell and Sell, without offering anything of value or anything that could make your business progress.

My solution has been to hit the unsubscribe button!

The Golden Rules!

Golden Rules!

If you start pushing crap offers and simply keep spamming your subscribers with products on a daily basis without offering them any value be prepared to have limited short term success!

IF you want to make sure that your business is sustainable and profitable in the long term follow these golden rules.

#1 Offer Value to your subscribers: Do not just sell to them!

#2 Only promote offers that you believe in! If you wouldn’t use them yourself do not promote them!

#3 Don’t abuse your list- They trust you…..so treat them with respect and don’t promote garbage!
