The most dangerous disease!
Hey Gang!
Its time for Tip #4 and my super dooper fantastic method….which I wish someone had told me years ago when I was getting started.
After my initial success (My first $1) I severely messed up….
I didn’t have a system and even when I did I rarely stuck to it.
I was suffering from one of the biggest conditions newbies suffer from….”Paralysis By Analysis”
You get into this viscious cycle of feeling overwhelmed, then guilty for not taking action, then self doubt then back to being overwhelmed….
You know what it’s like! It’s awful!
Breaking the cycle!
So here is a step-by-step system I advise all the people I mentor to use whenever they are just getting started and are stuck in that horrendous loop!
Step #1
The very first step for any newbie should be taking a decision on what “Niche” to work on.
A “Niche” is a particular topic or area….
For example….
Golf is a niche…If you choose to go into this Niche you would be working on marketing to people interested in golf.
Weight Loss is a niche…If you choose to go into this Niche you would be working on marketing to people interested in weight loss.
Task #1
Write Down at least 3 Niches that YOU have some interest in.
(Note: Choosing a niche that you are passionate in makes it easier for you to work on)
Step #2
You should now have 3 “Niches” which you will use for this particular step….
The two “Niches” I used as an example earlier are extremely big and competitive niches….
In other words….They have lots of interest……but also lots of competition.
So our next step is to narrow down our niches into a smaller less competitive niche…
For example…
We could narrow our golf niche to…..Golf fitness… and then narrow it down even further to Golf Fitness For Men.
We could narrow down our weight loss niche to weight loss for mums and then narrow it down even further to weight loss for mums after pregnancy.
The idea is that we focus our efforts on a small area of a big niche….which means there is still a lot of interest……but less people to compete with.
Task #2
Take your three niches from task #1 and narrow them down at least twice as in the examples above.
Ready?….
Step #3
We now need to see if these niches are profitable niches…otherwise we could be wasting our time in focusing our efforts…
To do this we need to do the following:
We need to find out if there are people interested in our niche.
We need to find out if people are buying stuff in our niche.
We need to find out if people are making money in our niche.
1) Head to Amazon.com
We are looking for the Magazine section….if the Niche has a Magazine dedicated to it….there has to be an interest in the niche in which people are spending money on.
Example…Is there a Golf Magazine? Or a Weight loss related Magazine?
2) Head to Google Keyword Tool.
We are looking to see if there are people searching for our niche online.
Where it says “Word or Phrase” type in your main niche (i.e Golf) and your narrowed down versions (Golf Fitness & Golf fitness for men)
Where it says Advanced options and filters…..Make sure that this is set to the area you are targeting….I normally set mine to ALL COUNTRIES.
Click on Search….
What you are looking for is an indication that people are searching for your niche using the words that you entered in the box….or related words….
a good figure to aim for is that you have words that when added up total up to around 150,000
This would give you an indication that there are people searching for your niche online, meaning that there are people interested in what you have to offer.
Make a list of the more popular phrases used so we can use it in the next steps.
3) Head back to Amazon.com
Do a search for your niche…..are products being sold in the niche?
If people are selling stuff in this niche then it could be one to profit from….as there are known buyers in the market…..THIS IS GOOD!
Make a note of the type of products that people are selling since it may be useful later on.
4) Head over to Clickbank.com
Do a search for your niche…..are products being sold in the niche?
Clickbank is the major reseller of digital products….if there are some of these being sold in the niche this is an excellent sign that people are purchasing digital products in your niche…
Make a note of some of these products which you could offer people in your niche.
5) Head over to Google.com
Type in some phrases you found earlier using the Google Keyword Tool earlier on.
Can you see ads appearing on the left hand side or the top of the search results?
Seeing sponsored ads is a good thing since it indicates that other marketers are willing to spend money advertising online….which means that people are buying stuff online in this niche.
Task #3
Complete the above process and eliminate any niche that does not meet 4 out of the 5 steps above.
So there you have it! A super simple process which you can rinse and repeat to find pretty much any niche you want….whenever you want!
